GARDENING FOR BEAUTY, ABUNDANCE & DIVERSITY

Helping your garden thrive

I'm a friendly, professional and qualified gardener working in Norwich and the surrounding South Norfolk villages. Passionate about caring for beautiful and wildlife-rich gardens, I’m equally happy pruning climbing roses in the depths of February or surrounded by flowers and bees in a thriving summer border. I trained with the RHS at Writtle University College before working on an Estate garden in West Norfolk. Since moving to South Norfolk I'm now offering bespoke gardening services in local gardens.

THE DIFFERENCE A GARDENER MAKES

There are few things more dispiriting than a garden that is getting out of hand. The pleasure your garden should bring is replaced with a sense of nagging guilt; weekends are spent battling overgrown shrubs or digging out yet another failed plant. The dream you had of a flowery, peaceful retreat is long gone.

It doesn't have to be this way. With my help, your garden can be brought gently back under control - ensuring your free time can be spent enjoying your garden.

WORKING FOR YOU

Garden maintenence

Nurturing herbaceous borders, pruning established plants with care or selecting the right plants for a new or redeveloped bed all fill me with satisfaction. Whether you are looking to keep your borders in top condition, maintain a wildflower meadow or restore old roses, I would be delighted to help you. I can offer weekly or fortnightly visits according to your garden's needs.

How I work

Each of my clients receives a personal service. Some keen gardeners prefer to collaborate on the work plan, so that we each understand the other's role in the garden. Some like to work alongside me during my visits, which is always welcome. Other clients like me to worry about their garden so they don't have to.

I always seek to work in ways that protect and enhance the biodiversity of a garden. For that reason I don't use pesticides or herbicides. Where possible, I choose no-dig methods that promote the health of micro-organisms and invertebrates in the soil: a healthy soil is the key to healthy plants.

The evolving garden

The relationships we have with our gardens change over time. Sometimes the garden you have now isn't the garden you need. I can help you with the process of rethinking your garden and helping it evolve to fit you better. Perhaps you'd like to make more of a home for wildlife, or to grow your own veg: I can help you to find the right plants, the right place in your garden and share hints and tips for success. Get in touch and we can work together to find a better balance in your garden.
